What You Need Is a Personal Baby Concierge!August 26, 2008
What took so long for this? Couples who bought into the consumerism-run-amok idea that a wedding is too complicated to handle by one's self, and hired a wedding planner to do the job, can now hire a baby planner! No, that's not the people who tell you when and how to conceive, or, failing that, find you a womb to rent with the borrowed eggs and the carefully chosen Nordic sperm. Those are different hired help.
These baby planners "tailor a plan that suit's their client's...vision." (Did you have a vision of parenting before you got into it? I did. It involved smiling plumpkins who never cried, fought, or spit strained carrot down their white smocked linen. Hahahahahahaha.) They also "support Green, Sustainable, and Organic products in every way possible." (Code: Guilt you into thinking that raising a baby is twice as expensive as it already is.) Actually I have no idea what this "full service consulting and concierge service with a holistic twist" does. All I know is that, being based in San Francisco, they know their market and face a long and successful future. For the rest of us: It's not that hard to go to Babies R Us and stock up. It's actually kind of fun to do it yourself. |
